Orphans: Miscellaneous Found Image Collages

My found image collages utilize pictures and text culled from magazines and books. I maintain a "Cutting Library" of bound volumes and a loose clipping file organized to reflect my idiosyncratic symbolic vocabulary. I am attracted to surrealistic steel engravings, little illustrations from aged dictionaries, out-of-date encyclopedias rescued from the dump, antiquated engineering treatises, old medical texts, and anything depicting the slightly "odd." Greeting cards, commercial packaging, junk mail and postage stamps are also obsessively collected, categorized, and horded.   Click on the thumbnail for a larger view.
